Windows Live for Windows Mobile
Today we announced one of our coolest products: Windows Live for Windows Mobile. It’s a "suite" of rich applications running specifically on Windows Mobile devices (but which can also be extended to other devices, using our Mobile Services Platform a.k.a. MSP).
Here are several highlights of the apps
Contacts
Windows Live contacts are fully integrated with the Windows Mobile contact’s app
The contact’s app now features contact attributes known to most Windows Live users, like presence, gleam notifications, user tile, link to contact’s space, link to IM
The coolest thing is that contacts are live. I.e. when your contact updates some information about herself it will show up in your contact list on the next sync
You can also modify your own profile from the device (change the user tile, display name, personal status message etc. I especially like how easy it is to take a new photo every day and use it as the user tile)
IM
We tried to make it very easy to switch between multiple conversations by using the new tabbed view
Contact information (user tile etc.) is previewed inline
You can send and receive IMs with emoticons
You can send and receive voice clips
You can send and receive files (if you choose to send a picture, the photo picker includes your camera as one of the sources, so you can take a pic and send it to anyone in your Messenger list with just a few clicks)
We also support nudges
Mail
We support HTML mail, which is great for viewing nicely formatted mails without losing any key information like embedded images
We support attachments (pretty cool for sending voice attachments, photos taken with your camera app etc.)
We also support push mail, so your mailbox will always be up to date
Spaces
As I mentioned above, the contacts app now include links to spaces, as well as gleam notifications with come on when contact spaces get updated
We also have a really cool camera and photo album integration, which will let you post your photos to spaces with a two clicks (one to bring up the menu, one to select the "Send to your space" option)
Search
The homescreen features a search bar, which allows you to search local listings, get maps and directions or search the web
All of the apps are accessible directly from the device homescreen. Here are a couple of screenshots:
As always, big thanks to everyone who helped us with the app via our beta program!

I guess the software is released to the manufacturers/carriers only. There are packages on windows live mobile - unofficial, search for windows live mobile .cab on google. Anybody from the MS site?
I don't understand this at all. When I click the link above it takes me to a page that is just as described above (screen shot). There is no download link there. There is one link at the bottom of the text (just visible at the bottom of my screen shot). When I click it it takes me to another page that describes all of the Windows Live services for Windows Mobile (screen shot 2). There is, again, no download option. The 'Try it out' link just sends a text message to your phone to http://mobile.msn.com. I tried the Windows Hotmail and Windows Messenger links. None of them gives a link to downloadable software. All of them just link you to their mobile websites. None look like the screen shots presented on this page. No where does it mention or tell how to synchronize my hotmail contacts with my phone.
It seems to me that the software was abandoned. If someone knows differently, please email me. I would really like to get the latest version of this software!
